Duo Counselling

Duo Counselling & Therapy is the only place where you will find a Labrador assisted qualified therapist with CPCAB Level 2 Counselling Skills, CPCAB Level 3 Counselling Studies, carefully selected and highly trained dogs, and an enhanced DBS check. I have years of experience of fostering children with complex needs, experience as a family facilitator for children in care, children victim of trauma, and children on various levels of the autism spectrum.
It is important to entrust your children to someone actually trained in counselling as emotions will be high and your child needs someone who can listen and help as much as you need someone who can identify issues.
Each client is matched to the appropriate Labrador. These Labradors are carefully selected to ensure the temperament is sound and beyond question. These dogs can face high levels of violence and outburst without being fased. They can also cope with high levels of display of affection. Each dog has his set of tricks - commando crawling, hand/nose touch, twirling around - this facilitates the pre-therapy relationship and allows for trust to be established at a faster pace.
